Lady Gaga bans Lady Goo Goo song
Lady Gaga won an injunction to stop Moshi Monter’s animated character Lady Goo Goo from releasing a single. Lady Goo Goo is a blonde baby with a long fringe created by Moshi Monsters online game - owned by UK firm Mind Candy - released The Moshi Dance on YouTube.
Mind Candy said in a statement the ruling was “a huge disappointment” and that “it’s pretty obvious that kids will be able to tell the difference between the two characters”.
Apple offers Starbucks customers a free weekly download
It’s called ‘Pick of the week’, it is offered to Starbucks customers and it gives them a free download from iTunes. This is a system which has been in place in the US since 2006, and come a week after the access of free wifi in all UK Starbucks.
Google teams up with Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB)
This is Google’s first advertising campaign which is launched today with the CAB. Using adverts in newspapers, on public transport and online, the two organisationsare seeking to encourage users to adopt secure passwords, log out of web browsers and computers when they’ve finished using them and even to adopt more complex ways of signing into their email accounts, known as ‘two-factor authentication’. It will also cover child protection and the use of ‘cookies’ in web browsers.
