I Spy’s Head of Paid Search Chris Speed has 10 years experience in digital marketing, which is remarkable when you consider he hadn’t ever sent an email prior to co-founding a small digital agency in 1999.

 “The appeal is the performance aspect, the ability to measure the difference you can make to people. It’s very fast moving and dynamic right back from the introduction of paid search tools in 2000/2001 through to the importance of social media today,” he says.

After 6 years of advising local businesses and dot-coms on all things web-related, Chris moved to Visit Britain where he oversaw paid and natural search as well as website analytics for their global suite of websites in more than 45 different languages.

18 months later, well-versed in writing paid search creative in Korean and meta tags in Italian, Chris joined I Spy as Head of Paid Search in February 2007.

His desire to move back into a commercial environment  and work with clients in a wide variety of industries has been more than satisfied, with the likes of QVC, Avon, Parkdean Holidays and Parcelforce among the companies he has worked on.

Outside work, Chris can be found on the tennis court honing his topspin backhand.
