London Fashion Week: The I Spy Experience
All heads turned to the capital over the last fortnight as London’s bi-annual Fashion Week hit with a bang. Catwalk shows offering the newest styles and designer trends were hosted in a variety of locations, and we had the pleasure of attending the Vauxhall Fashion Scout, which has been running for the past 13 seasons.
The show featured graduate designer styles including the fantastic work of Morana Kranjec, a designer who makes her outfits out of the most intricate of paper cuts and Matthew Williamson, as well as other established designers. Held in the iconic Masons building in Holborn, the Vauxhall Fashion Show was supported by the Body Shop.
The Leutton Postle show featured a visually arresting collection of intensely detailed appliqué and interesting masks on the models. The girls wore classic knitwear shapes such as v-neck cardigans and pullovers with a unique twist – heavy boucle jackets and quirky headwear to set the tone for the show.
The result was a serious mash up of the everyday with some statement pieces to appeal to the bold and vibrant women in the audience. Inspiration was taken from tinsel, metallics and every day earthy tones to create something new and exciting.
Social media channels like Facebook and Twitter have been going mad over both fashion and make-up trends, and brands like Avon have posted content on how to recreate the make-up looks featured in a week when all eyes are turned to the capital.
